The Lake District is a stunning place to get married and a Storrs Hall wedding has to be one of the best settings overlooking Lake Windermere. It’s a Georgian Mansion set in beautiful, private grounds right on the lake side. I got married here so you can imagine how thrilled I was to come back to photograph another Storrs Hall wedding for Jordan and Jenny’s June wedding.
They had a church ceremony at St Peter’s Church in Far Sawrey just over the lake. Windermere Lake Cruises sent a boat to pick all the guests up from Storrs Hall’s private jetty and take them over for the church ceremony. It was quite windy so there was a lot of hat holding as the guests made their way down to board the boat. We set off and then Jordan’s best man remembered the rings so we turned back and they ran back to the room for them. Everybody arrived on time and fortunately ahead of Jenny who went the long way round by classic car with her dad and bridesmaids.
Oscar the adorable Golden Labrador played a big part in the wedding day and behaved himself beautifully all day apart from peeing on a gravestone. He has the sweetest nature and waited patiently in the aisle for his mum and dad to finish their vows.
After the ceremony everybody was treated to another boat ride for the return journey to Storrs Hall, this time enjoying champagne and canapes before arriving back at Storrs Hall for the wedding reception. After some relaxation outside by the lake, Storrs served a delicious wedding breakfast which was followed by hilarious speeches and dancing.
It was a pleasure to work with Phillip White again who made Jenny and Jordan’s wedding film and to work with Brackens of Bowness who created the summer bouquets and table decorations.
