I usually photograph two or three destination weddings each year and this was my first in Portugal. The wedding was held at Fazenda Nova country house near Tavira on the Eastern Algarve. It’s a converted farm house in the country side full of pomegranate and quince trees. It’s absolute heaven and one of the coolest, most relaxing places I have ever visited. Rebecca makes wedding films (Rebecca Reville Videography) and Gil is a musician (Gillan Edgar Music). Over the years we have worked together a lot and have become friends. Rebecca filmed our wedding too. There are so many images in this blog post because there were three outfit changes, a pool party and Fazenda Nova is so stunningly beautiful that I was in photography heaven. All that AND beautiful light! Rebecca wore a bespoke Charlie Brear gown for the ceremony then for the evening she changed into an Erica Stacey gown. It made me laugh that she had two dresses and a veil because when she began planning she was a bit of an anti-bride and kept saying I’m not having a big dress and I’m definitely not having a veil! Gil is so animated and fun and the bridesmaids were all completely nuts so there was a lot of larking about and shenanigans and it really was wonderful to capture their destination wedding day.
I hope you have enjoyed looking through Rebecca and Gill’s beautiful destination wedding in Portugal. If you would like to see another destination wedding this time in Kenya then please click the here
