Linthwaite House is a one of the most beautiful places in the Lake District. It’s set high up on a hill overlooking Lake Windermere. It has stunning private gardens and it’s own little tarn. It’s so peaceful and quiet and the house itself is unstuffy and elegant.
I was thrilled to photograph another gorgeous Lake District wedding at Linthwaite House this time for Yvette and Andrew, farmers who live near near Penrith. I met Yvette a few times during the planning stages leading up to the wedding. I didn’t meet Andrew until the wedding day itself. After he said hello and introduced himself and his groomsmen, he explained to me that he had a bit of purple on his hand because he’d been treating a ram for foot rot earlier in the morning and the spray you use is purple. This of course was music to my ears being a newbie shepherd myself. We talked a bit about sheep and farming and I took some pictures whilst we waited for his beautiful Yvette to arrive. One of the best bits of the day for me was Andrew’s speech; “I’ve never seen our lass look so smart” he then went on to describe her as a “top penner” which means she’d achieve a good price at auction! Yvette looked very beautiful in her Lusan Mandongus dress and Emmy London shoes but it was her smile that did it. She smiled and laughed all day and looked so happy. Laura from Greenwheat Flowers in Penrith styled the church and Linthwaite House in a country theme with milk churns and an old bicycle. It was perfect for a Lake District wedding and of course two farmers.
