I photographed the very first Browsholme Hall wedding a few years ago and it’s always lovely to go back. Browsholme Hall is set in the Ribble Valley and is one of the wedding venues I work at most throughout the year. It’s one of my favourite Lancashire wedding venues. Even the drive there along the Trough Road takes your breath away.
Bel and Chris came to see me to talk about their wedding plans and we got on really well. Bel’s arty style was evident and I kept my fingers crossed that they would choose me to photograph their wedding day.
Chris, his dad and his bestman stayed at Browsholme Hall’s cottage the night before and the girls all stayed at his parent’s house in Lancashire. At the very end of the wedding ceremony Bel picked up her violin, Chris picked up whatever those things are you hit a glockenspiel with and they played themselves out. Bel teaches music so she was magical. Chris was very funny and clearly isn’t a music teacher! After the ceremony we took a little drive up onto the Trough Road for some photographs over looking the Ribble Valley and of course took some in the beautiful gardens and around the huge Elizabethan Country House which is still the family home of the Parker family. Kerry Baker was with us on hair and make-up for the whole day, she’s always great fun to work with. Both families felt like one family, there was such a huge amount of warmth and love and it was a pleasure to photograph. Here are some of my favourites including the friendly farmer whizzing by on his quad wishing Bel and Chris ‘all the best!”
