Lisa Aldersley Photography » Lisa Aldersley http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog Blog Thu, 29 Jul 2010 13:11:47 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.0 Susie & Will’s Lower Peover Wedding http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/susie-wills-peover-wedding/ http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/susie-wills-peover-wedding/#comments Thu, 29 Jul 2010 13:03:15 +0000 Lisa Aldersley http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/?p=1295 Susie and Will were married at St. Oswald’s church in Lower Peover  and had their reception at Susie’s parents home in Smithy Green.  The day was glorious and the gorgeous details were photography heaven for me.  Again, it was lovely to see people I know.  They had an afternoon tea tent (which was my favourite) full of china tea-cups and scones.  Must give a mention to Sara Ewer – her  flowers and marquee decorations were stunning.   CS Catering did the food and canapes, Light Tech were in charge of lighting and sound and Tent and Garden supplied the fabulous marquees.  I could go on and on but I’ll let the photographs tell the story.

]]> http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/susie-wills-peover-wedding/feed/ 2 Helen & Dale’s Rookery Hall Wedding http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/helen-dales-rookery-hall-wedding/ http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/helen-dales-rookery-hall-wedding/#comments Fri, 23 Jul 2010 15:54:04 +0000 Lisa Aldersley http://www.la-photography.co.uk/blog/?p=1209 Helen and Dale had a wonderful wedding on the lawn at Rookery Hall.  I’m always delighted when weddings are outside because it’s such a rare event with our weather.  I met Dale and Helen last year after I had photographed their friends wedding so was very happy when they booked me for theirs.  Helen wore a beautiful Ian Stuart gown and had orange calla lilies and orchids in her bouquet.  Caroline Law did an amazing job helping them plan the wedding and creating the stationery. Dale was in a bit of a stress when I arrived because he was trying to perfect his speech. The table in his hotel room was covered with A4 paper screwed up into little balls! It’s a well known fact amongst Dale and Helen’s friends that they are a bit nuts and Dale thinks he’s a superhero (with a huge list of life threatening hobbies as evidence.)  As a surprise they had Dale’s sky diving team land on the lawn at Rookery Hall in spite of gale force winds (in the sky diving world anyway – it was just a bit of a breeze to regular people :) ) Thanks for having me you two – it was fantastic to spend the day with you and I’m looking forward to County Bride Magazine coming out in August with your wedding as one of the real wedding features.

“I really just wanted to put in writing my thoughts on ‘all about weddings’ with Lisa. I know I spoke to you briefly on the day, but I thought I’d take the time to thank you properly. That same balance Lisa brings to her wedding photography of getting caught up in the romance of the wedding itself and using her camera correctly, she brought to us in the course. She cared about us and what we were getting from the day. She provided a very safe environment for us, I felt I could, and did(!) ask some extremely basic questions, and she treated each question, no matter how trivial, with respect and did everything possible to help us get great shots on the day. Jane and Catherine were really great too…really switched on, great speakers  and full to the brim with helpful advice. The whole course was totally inspiring from start to finish. Thanks so much for encouraging me to go on it! Also what a great group of people too – we all got on really well and were at similar levels – although I got a lot of handy hints from them too!!”

“I just want to thank you ALL so much for a wonderful two days, I cannot tell you how important it was for me.
To Jayne & Cathrine…. thank you so much for your entertaining and informative approach to the Business Strategy and Planning Day. I found your ideas and suggestions, logical and hopefully attainable! I have my notes for reference and will be dipping in and using them in the coming months for sure.

Ling from Dragonfly Couture created the beautiful stationery, Anne from Earth in Heswall did an amazing job with a million roses and of course Sophie made her own cakes.   Happy times in Dubai you two – I’ll miss you :)
