A few years ago, the first time I did a masterclass at SWPP I met a girl called Jayne. I had finished my presentation and this beautiful girl came up to me at the end, tears and snot streaming down her face. The photos and the presentation had her all emotional and we had a really nice chat. It’s something I will always remember. Her reaction had validated my photography. I always said I wanted people to feel something when they look at my pictures and she clearly did! She and her husband Joe are photographers and I’ve watched them build a lovely business over the past few years. She has been taking some beautiful detail photographs recently and she inspired me to do the same. I’ve been playing out this morning and have taken some photographs of things I have around my home. Treasures that I love including my favourite shoes, my best birthday present (a papier mache elephant!) a car we dug up in the garden, a Tiempe Passate bottle, an old milk bottle from the 1950s that I bought on Ebay last week and a book that my friend Rachel Hayton gave me. Thanks Snotty Jayne for inspiring me to take some photos for fun. They won’t make you cry but I hope you like them!

My photo is on the cover of Bride Magazine
Very, very happy today because Bride have used another one of my images for the cover of the 2012 magazine. That’s two years running now. Thank you beautiful Rachel Hayton for being a stunning bride and to the lovely Jodie Make-up for gorgeous styling, hair and make-up and to Bride Magazine for being the best bridal magazine ever!!
Ellie & Hugo’s wedding at The Plough, Lupton
I loved Ellie and Hugo’s wedding from the moment I arrived at the Plough. I walked into the reception room and it was full of gorgeous details. I went to see Ellie getting ready and there, hanging from the chandelier, was a 1940′s wedding dress from the Vintage Wedding Dress company – heaven and all within the first ten minutes! It rained on and off for most of the day but it didn’t matter, everyone was so relaxed and fun. Then just before the wedding breakfast the sun came out and we grabbed a few more photos in the sunshine whilst the guests were being seated. Here’s the story …
My photo is on the cover of Pure Weddings
I am very giddy because Pure Weddings have used another one of my photographs on their cover for the winter issue. It was one of my favourite photographs from Sarah and Terry’s very snowy wedding last December at the wonderful Ettington Park hotel. That’s 3 cover photographs so far this year! Also, Anna and Gavin’s wedding at Linthwaite House is one of their featured weddings.
Linthwaite wedding is in Pure Weddings Mag
I loved Anna and Gavin’s wedding at Linthwaite House in the Lake District. It really is one of the most divine locations I have ever been to so I’m really happy that Pure Weddings Magazine have featured it.
